If anyone actually checks this site anymore, this officially marks the "end of Arcator as we know it". I will no longer pretend that I will continue to update the server. It's not possible to manage it in the current conditions--those being the lack of staff activity (and a lack of playerbase to create new staff), my disinterest in Minecraft, and the fact that I am currently the only "active" owner, if you can even call me that. I may use MC2 for something interesting like a TF2 server or something if I get into that kind of thing, but for now the immediate plan is to upgrade my internet service so that I can forward port 80 and open a webserver and host websites for friends to make some money. I'll let you guys know if it turns into a game server so you guys can use it, but it will most definitely (unless something rekindles my interest in Minecraft) not be a Minecraft server.

I'll drop into IRC every so often. It's been a great 2 1/2 years, guys. Peace.

Well, I wasn't really planning on using my server for MC2 anymore because I have (as you can probably tell by my recent activity on the server) completely lost interest in Minecraft, but because I don't really have anything else to use it for, I figured why not.

So, this is how it's going to play out:

MC1 will be changed from Creative Freebuild to something else, which will depend on the result of a vote among the Admins
MC2 will be Hardcore RPG and I will start setting it up tonight
A reset in the staff will occur and everyone below Admin will be reverted to default

I will start with MC1, and then do the rank reset, and then MC2. After that is done, I will focus on adding extra things like Teamspeak/Mumble and making functionality changes to the site.

I just had to delete the last 2,000 users, so there are now approximately 1,500 users of this site, most of which are still spam.

All of the content is permanently removed, of course. Account creation is now at the discretion of administrators.

So the reason MC1 crashed recently was because of this:

Not much is known other than that this was done by either an Admin with World Edit or someone using a hacked client. This will be looked into by Owners and we will find who did it. In the meantime, we have the usual options. If there is a recent backup of the world, then we can restore it to that as soon as possible. Otherwise some other owners and admins can help me clean up the mess. OR it is possible that MC1 can become temp survival/hardcore until we either fix the mess or if Banana chooses to use his server for MC2. MC1 will be down temporarily in order to fix this issue.

Arcator MC1 has been updated to 1.5.2 and playing can resume. A revitalized RPG MC2 is also currently being worked on and will be available to play in the coming days/weeks/months/years. SO HAVE FUN OR DIE.
