TeamSpeak
So I've got a TeamSpeak server running on MC2. You can access it with the same IP as my minecraft server, mc2.arcator.co.uk. You should be able to access it at ts.arcator.co.uk too.
If you don't know what TeamSpeak is, you can go die in a pit (preferably one that's on fire). Just kidding, here's a link to download it.
How to use it:
- Download the client for the proper operating system at the link above.
- Install it.
- Run it.
- Click Connections at the top of your screen.
- Click Connect.
- Input "mc2.arcator.co.uk" for the Server Address and your nickname of choice (preferably your Minecraft username) in the Nickname field. There is no server password.
- If you are on a Mac, it is recommended that you use headphones while talking or turn on press-to-talk by clicking Settings>Setup Wizard at the top and following the wizard until it prompts you to enter a press-to-talk key (I prefer to use control because it does not interfere with Minecraft and it doesn't turn on MouseKeys like "alt" does).
Enjoy!
P.S. I'll make a post about MC2 and the rules and explaining the plugins when spawn is ready.

Well as of now we don't really have one of those
Unless Josh wants to run it but apparently when he gets his new internet he's taking MC3 back from Kieraan, so maybe Kieraan could run TeamSepak and Josh could run MC3?
To be honest, if it's just teamspeak, anybody can run it. I could run it quite easily if I cba lol.
It's better for it to be run on a proper server than a computer...
That's like saying it's better to buy and drive a new convertible corvette rather than the normal car I already own to a destination just a mile away. Also server = computer.
You know what I meant by computer. A desktop.
I agree with you on the major issue of whether or not a proper server is more suited for Teamspeak than a normal desktop. It certainly is, unless reliability and efficiency mean nothing to you and your user base.
I agree with Pigboy501 on the minor issue of pedantry.

Perhaps it would be a better idea to run this off of a different server than one which will be constantly active with Minecraft players?
