Time for me to step in

I understand from recent events that there is a deep dissatisfaction amongst many of you at the way Arcator is currently being run and managed: that updates can be slow, problems take a long time to resolve, and the ownership team - essentially being myself and Banana - is often unavailable to truly listen to your concerns and defuse situations that arise.
To quite a large extent, such feelings are completely valid. Coordinating and managing a server requires large amounts of effort and work, and it's fair to expect that shit gets done to provide you with a decent service.
But we're only human, and very few of the management team are actually adults who have time and energy to devote to this cause. Shit happens - specifically, exams and personal emotional issues - that get in the way. I'm not trying to cop out of doing my work. I'm explaining why I haven't been around to help you all out. I apologise for being absent, but it's something that I require to sort things out and focus properly on my future. I won't be able to fully return here until at least two weeks, and further than that I will have to deal with other things.
I have heard a rumour that a group of people are planning to leave because they disagree with the running of the server - specifically, the running of the server by Banana937 for the majority of the time. I don't understand why there is such an issue with his leadership; there is a perceived unreliability, yes, but I've stated above why that has been necessary.
In short, I'd like you to explain the problems you have with the server's leadership and direction here and now, rather than silently building frustration and leaving the community that we've worked so hard to build over the past year and a half, so we can be constructive and improve the experience for everyone.
What's wrong with Arcator as it is, and how can we fix it?
The way I see it, the common ancestor to every issue on this site is immaturity and the belief that any of this actually matters. First of all, if someone is being a dickhole, just don't say anything because chances are that dickhole is going to respond and further elevate his status of dickholeyness and your level of rage. Second of all, this is a simply a host for a multiplayer game. Yeah its fun to play with other people and it requires effort to get benefit out, but please don't think of Arcator as anything more than a host for a community of well-mannered Minecraft players. It's ok to take things seriously, but don't take it like someone just insulted your only livelihood. Just have fun playing a game. Also one more thing, STOP TALKING ABOUT PERSONAL SHIT, THIS IS A MINECRAFT SERVER NOT A FACEBOOK/TWITTER/FLICKR/TUMBLR/WHAT EVER SERVER 
The above statement is true. I agree with everything Mal has said, and I'm willing to take your input. Obviously sometimes I get mad, but giving me your input in a calm and orderly manner (and then possibly receiving some verbal harassment from me for an hour or less) is much better than insulting me and having nothing change. Think of this as a "shit on Banana" thread. I want you guys to tell me exactly what you want from me. All jokes aside, I need to know what I can do to better my behavior. I'm assuming many of you will claim, "Oh, he's only being so tolerant because Mal is here". That's not true, I'm being tolerant because I need to be tolerant right now. If you think that I'm licking Mal's ass right now, you are ignorant and need to open your eyes. I'd actually like to improve, and I need your input (not insults) to do so.
Also, random sidenote: I have final exams starting Friday and ending next Wednesday. Then, I'll have über amounts of time to be here over the summer, which means quicker updates and shit.
One thing I would like you to improve with your attitude is the way you assume the meaning of others' words. For example, there have been times I talk to you with all seriousness and honesty, and you take it as sarcasm, and other times I joke around, and you take it personal and too serious. So next time if you are in doubt of the meaning of others' words, just ask them and don't assume they mean something they might not even be thinking of.

You summed up all my issues in a single sentence. As long as your aren't being destructive to the server, it shouldn't matter if you talk about personal things. This is a Minecraft server where friends can come and mess around and build, explore, and have fun. Not a sweatshop where the only thing you can do is build and leave.
Reiterating my comment from a ban, that I know most of you didn't see because it was on a ban. And honestly, this goes for all staff. We HAVE to put of with players to keep a player-base. Rooting out annoying/immature/young players might mean we have a mature player-base, but it doesn't mean we have the numbers and word-of-mouth.

The owner is someone your supposed to look at as a "Pretty cool guy", and in turn, you gain respect by acting maturely to your player-base. When you see an owner and he isn't acting right, or isn't respecting the players, that influences other players to look down on the owner, instead of up like they're supposed to. Respect is usually earned, but in the case of Owner-Player, its something that is expected to be present in that relationship."
