The minecraft survival games.
Hello everyone,
If you havent seen, last night 12 youtubers such as seananners and captainsparklez participated in the minecraft survival games. Its basically the hunger games of minecraft. Me and killercrab have a little youtube channel called JLexGamers and we thought it would be a great idea to do our own. All we need is someone to host a 12 person server for an evening so naturally i thought of arcator. The will probably be 5 places already taken but the others will be free. If you guys can set up the map (and i think there is a plugin involved) then we will record and promote these servers if you want.

You guys, I declare that it's very unfair for you to create a list of a certain amount of players who can partake in this. We already have this event planned out (see "The 1st Annual Arcatorian Hunger games (totally not copyright!)"[sic]). Feel free to comment on that and play when it's created, but it's not fair at all to close off the server to everyone but a few for an extended period of time just for a game, therefore I declare this null and void.
Also, have you even talked to Mal about this? Or did you just decide, "Oh, he's an Owner, I bet he wants to be in"?
EDIT: Also, if Killercrab is hosting, this isn't really an Arcator-sponsored event, therefore take it somewhere else. And also, I just thought of an idea. This week is Spring Break for my school, and sometime from Monday-Wednesday I'm taking my server to a repair shop to get it looked at. That means it's almost a 100% guarantee that I have it running by the end of the week (provided none of my parts need replacing). In addition to hosting a Race for the Wool Tournament (don't worry you guys, I haven't forgotten about that), I can also host this! Then it will be Arcator-sponsored and totally fair, because there can be any number of people playing! I, of course, will be moderating. So we can either do that, or we can build an arena somewhere on MC1/MC3, but there is absolutely no chance that you can shut down the entire server for a set 12 people to play in a game that could take hours.
First off it can be 24 people. How often are 24 people on the server at once? Secondly he is hosting by filming and pulling the lever to start the thing off. It will still be hosted by arcator because it will be on a arcator server.

Me and killer have played a few matches on another server a few days ago and the matches dont take hours. Im fine with you moderating unless you piss about and fsu. It will be kind of hard to moderate apart from the start because everyone will have run in different directions. All that is needed is the map, no flying and no block breaking (if you can do that).
Finally, i will advertise these servers if you want. I dont know what the current situation is with numbers so if there is an influx of players then I wont put any details up.

We would need to run it on an unofficial server, plausibly banana's, because the official servers only hold 15 people and you obviously can't deny someone from playing creative or factions if they aren't playing in the games. Also I vote yes for pre-beta reunion

How many people can your server hold? The map can only hold 24 so anymore than that isnt my problem. If more than 24 want to play at once (which i dont think will happen) then we will have to rotate. Any more questions?

That gives everyone alive time to get stuff and explore. Eventually there will be a few players left and everyone else will be in creative mode flying about spawning stuff such as mosters and lava (but no lava/fire directly onto the player). When there are two players left they should be left alone when they can see each other but you can place lava etc if they are moving in the wrong direction.

THE LIST: it looks a little like this
Organizer (apparently me) has to get everything ready, so planning and installing traps, making sure items are in appropriately placed chests, and makes sure no-one tries to leave the arena while also being able to take part.
Gamekeepers (Admin+ and higher) are to fly around the arena making sure no-one cheats, leaves or re-enters the arena and set respawn away from the arena, and basically spread discord inside for tributes.
Tributes must abide to the rules, and kill or be killed. Stealing like Foxface is allowed, but leaving or re-entering the arena after death is prohibited. After death, you will become a spectator.
Spectators basically just watch. Spectators can choose to give tributes gifts, so like food, or armor and weapons. Entering is prohibited.
All this aside, I cannot host the server required, so that will have to be done by another Arcatorian. Tekkit (as mentioned in my post) will need to be installed, for all the weapons it has. Above all, the map either needs to be made ourselves, OR download the Machinima one.

That sounds like a plan with the exception of the gamekeepers. Admin+s are allowed to play, so if they do not want to play, they will gamekeep with me. If there are not enough gamekeepers, I will choose a few people to join me. I also suggest we use a mod other than Tekkit, considering Tekkit includes many mechanical things that would not be in the actual Hunger Games. I'll try to find a good knife mod or something.

I watched, and liked the way it was set up over all, but I have 1 suggestion. At the end it just became a free for all with mob-spawning and item giving. I say that each player that isn't in the actual Hunger Games chooses 1 person to back, and they get 1 item in the beginning of the match to give to that 1 player when-ever they want.
